Scott Lang is a former thief who has been released from prison. He wanted to improve his life path by finding a decent job, this was done in order to be able to finance the benefits of his little daughter. But with a criminal record, it is difficult for Scott to be able to find a clean job.
Being in a position of urgency Scott finally returned to his old "road" to steal the wealth of a former big CEO, who was none other than Hank Pym. And the treasure stolen by Scott is in the form of Hank's costume which made him dubbed as "Ant-Man", because the costume is able to make the wearer can shrink like ants and grow back as he pleased.
Instead of being left in prison, Hank offered Scott an option, which was to help him steal a new costume developed by Darren Cross at Pym Tech, while destroying his data to prevent world destruction. Hank gives Scott the chance to become an "Ant-Man" and become a "hero" to protect the world from the threat of a new costume that could pose such danger, Yellowjacket. This is what makes the Avengers split because Iron Man has a different opinion. Iron Man believes that with this agreement, what the Avengers will do will be according to the rules so that there will be no chaos.
